Rajendra Nagar accident is being covered up, but for the same mistake, the court here sent 12 officers to jail

Three students preparing for UPSC lost their lives when their basement in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi got flooded. After this, a political war is going on. Statements are being fired. Everyone is blaming each other. But in a similar case, a Libyan court sent 12 officers to jail. It has ordered strict action against them.

Actually, the dam in Libya’s Derna city broke last year. Due to this, the entire city was flooded and thousands of people died. When an investigation was conducted, the negligence of 12 officers came to light. These people were responsible for managing the dams of the country. The job of keeping them safe was entrusted to them. But the court admitted that these people did not do their work properly. They were negligent, due to which the dams broke and there was devastation.

The Attorney General said that the court has held 12 officers guilty of negligence and sentenced them to jail terms between 9 and 27 years. Four officers have been acquitted. The court said that these officers showed such negligence that thousands of people died. Therefore, a case of conspiracy to murder also stands against them. Government money was wasted because of these people.

Derna is a coastal city in Libya with a population of about 125,000. Last September, the city was completely devastated by floods caused by Hurricane Daniel. Thousands of people died and thousands went missing due to this. Buildings were washed away. The report says that the dams collapsed because there was a flaw in their design. Their hydrological system was made weak. This mistake was made by the officers.
