Three centuries ago in history, a tradition was revived when the Rajpurohits of five villages of Marwar entered the City Palace in Udaipur on Wednesday. This moment was culturally and historically very special, as these villages are located near Desuri region of Pali district and are connected to the last boundary of Mewar.

All these villages are located in Pali district of Rajasthan and have historically been connected to the boundaries of Mewar.
Why is this tradition important?
300 years ago, due to some reason, this tradition was broken and the Rajpurohits of these villages stopped coming to the city palace.
Efforts were being made to re -establish this tradition recorded in the pages of history, which was now successful.
It is seen as the Renaissance of Rajputana history and traditions.
Lakshraj Singh Mewar welcomed
Lakshraj Singh Mewar, the successor of the Udaipur royal family, warmly welcomed the representatives of these villages at the City Palace.
Making this historical moment even more special, a grand picture of Arvind Singh Mewar was presented to the representatives of these villages.
Confluence of history and culture
The event is being considered an important step towards reviving Rajasthani traditions and cultural heritage.
Now it has to be seen whether this newly lived tradition will continue even further and will it get a new historical identity.
