GOne of my articles was published with the title ‘Supreme not only’ not only ‘clever but also vicious, Baba Ramdev’ when Ramdev and his professional colleague Balakrishna had apologized for their mistake in the Supreme Court unconditionally in a drug advertising case that misleading Patanjali Ayurved in the Supreme Court. At that time, ‘Patanjali Wellness’ published an advertisement through which the misconceptions on allopathy medical practice were accused of spreading. On this advertisement, the Indian Medical Association filed a petition in the Supreme Court on 17 August 2022. In this petition, on 22 November 2023, the press conference of Balakrishna and Baba Ramdev of Patanjali was also told in which Patanjali claimed to ‘completely heal’ diabetes and asthma. During the hearing of the same case, the court ordered Patanjali to close all the misleading claims advertisements immediately, saying that the court would take any such violation very seriously and can impose a fine of up to Rs 1 crore on the false claim of each product.
In the same case, both Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishna were directed to appear in the court on 2 April for not responding to the contempt notice. Then in the same case, a day before the hearing in the Supreme Court, Baba Ramdev and Patanjali MD Acharya Balakrishna filed an affidavit in the court and apologized unconditionally and in the apology, both Ramdev and Balakrishna had said that they would fully follow the order and keep the dignity of justice. But his viciousness like defaming the product of another company to sell his product will be so expensive this time Ramdev would not have thought.
That is why, pointing to the popular soft drink brand ‘Ruh Afza’ found house to house in summer in the country and all over the world, he said something that revealed his communal mentality as well as a strong marketing of Roh Afza. Recently, Ramdev released a video on Facebook and said that -‘There is a company in the name of sorbet which gives sherbet but the money that is received from sherbet makes madrasas and mosques. If you drink that syrup, then you will become mosques and madrasas and drink Patanjali’s syrup, then you will become Gurukul, Acharya Kulam will be built, Patanjali University and Indian Education Board will move forward. ”
He also further said that – “That’s why I say this is” sherbat jihad “. Just as love jihad, vote jihad is going on, ‘Sharbat jihad’ is also going on. After Ramdev’s controversial and poisonous statement, a lot of uproar has arisen.” Ramdev has also said about other cold drinks sold across the country – “People have been said to have a soft drink in summer. The cleaner keeps on drinking. ‘In 1906, Ruh Afza was started in Delhi with Hakim Hafiz Abdul Majeed laying the foundation of Hamdard Laboratories.
He created a drink using traditional Unani medicine herbs and syrup that could give relief from heat and heat stroke. This soft drink was named Ruh Afza. Afza literally means- “The thing that refreshes the soul (soul).” Ruh Afza has become such a favorite and acceptable drink of people all over the world today that it has dominated the whole world without advertising. And every year, by earning a foreign exchange of crores of rupees, it makes significant contribution to the economy of India.
The vicious Ramdev should have also abstained from words like Sharbat Jihad that his own products are being sold in many Muslim countries of the world. The madrasa and mosque with which they are irritated with the same mosque and madrasa Maulavi Maulanas along with their marketing colleagues have been seen getting their products marketed in other Muslim countries including Iran. But in fact, due to Ramdev’s failure failed many products and many times his product was suspected, even after the Indian Army failed the sample of many of his products, the sale of his Patanjali brand has started stopping.
The showrooms of their product will be found everywhere but the customer is nowhere to be visible. That is why he was a victim of despair and frustration, first he was trying to create his business by arising patriotism among the people by creating a sense of foreign vs. Swadeshi. Then he wanted to take advantage of allopathy vs. Ayurveda and take advantage of it, on which he had to face his face.
After all, Ramdev, a victim of this frustration and despair, played a card of communalism against the well -known indigenous company Hamdard and called it ‘Sharbat Jihad’. And from here, his reality was revealed that he has objections not only to English or foreigner but also from the indigenous Ayurvedic company and he also sees evil in that too? The reality is that Ramdev’s empire, standing on lies frustration and extreme ambition, is now staggering. Ramdev’s personality himself has now become a pure businessman Baba instead of Yogguru. Ramdev has played this communal card only to save this staggering business empire.
He hoped that by saying ‘Sharbat Jihad’, he would get the support of the majority society of the country, but the same majority society gave such a befitting reply to this badness of Ramdev that according to the news, the sales of spirit Afza increased manifold. And to save his sinking business empire, Ramdev had to resort to communal cards and even in a soft drink, he had to create a vocabulary like ‘Sherbet Jihad’.
