Udaipur. As per the instructions issued by the Police Headquarters under the direction of Inspector General of Police Rajesh Meena and the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Harsh Ratnu, under the Policing for Care of Children program run for child protection in collaboration with Udaipur Range Police and UNICEF, a range level felicitation ceremony of Suraksha Sakhis was organized. The event was organized in the auditorium located at Reserve Police Line. The police department selected Suraksha Sakhis at all the police stations to work for widespread awareness on women and girl safety.
In the felicitation ceremony, ASP Harsh Ratnu highlighted the importance of community policing by the Range Police and said that women safety and child protection are among the priorities of the police. Praising the selfless efforts being made by Suraksha Sakhis for women safety and child protection, he described it as an important link between women, children and police. In the function, Additional Superintendent of Police, Women Crime and Research Cell, Hitesh Mehta, while appreciating the work being done by Suraksha Sakhis, encouraged them for awareness at the society level, calling Suraksha Sakhis the first aid for victimized women and children. UNICEF’s child protection advisor Sindhu Binujit also gave useful suggestions at the function. Suraksha Sakhis shared with the police officers the main problems they face while working with the department. During the felicitation ceremony, mementos and appreciation letters for commendable efforts on women safety and girl child safety from all the districts of the range were presented by police officers and UNICEF representatives. During the ceremony, more than 50 participants from all the districts of the range were present along with Mahila Police Station Officer Rajsamand Sangeeta, Sanchit Inspector of Reserve Police Line Gulab Singh, program manager Akash Upadhyay etc.
