Sriganganagar. The sensation spread in the city on Tuesday morning when two miscreants fired on the real state businessman Ashish Gupta, who was leaving a gym. In this attack, the businessman was shot in the leg. He was immediately admitted to the nearest private hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
The incident took place on Jassa Singh Marg around 10.15 am. According to the information, Ashish Gupta went to exercise in the gym as usual. As soon as he got out of the gym, two youths riding on the bike arrived and started firing. This sudden incident caused chaos on the spot. To save lives, traders ran away and entered the gym’s channel gate. The crooks escaped from the spot after seeing them inside. This entire incident has been captured in a nearby CCTV camera.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers fired several bullets one after the other, whose voice came in panic. As soon as the information was received, Kotwali police station in -charge Prithippal Singh reached the spot with the police team. Police have also recovered some vacant cartridges from the spot. At present, blockade has been done across the district and monitoring has been increased on all entry and withdrawal routes of the city. The police are investigating CCTV footage of the surrounding areas so that clues of the attackers can be found.
SP Gaurav Yadav said that some important clues have been found about the incident, on the basis of which it will be revealed soon. Police teams have been constantly dispatched in search of the accused. He has also taken information about the incident from the injured Ashish Gupta to the hospital.
The police have seen the possibility of mutual rivalry in the preliminary investigation. However, investigation is on with all aspects. After the incident, the gym operator and the people around are scared. The injured businessman Ashish Gupta is associated with real estate business and has several colonies in the city. The incident of this firing in broad daylight has created an atmosphere of panic in the entire area.
