The British luxury car brand Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), owned by Tata Motors, has decided to recall more than 1,21,500 vehicles in the US. The cause of this major recall is a malfunction in front suspension copying, which can become a serious threat to the safety of the car. Let us understand it in detail.
Which vehicles will be affected?
This recall includes Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models. According to the company, all the affected vehicles will be checked free of cost and free repair or change of the priests found badly.
What is the real danger?
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said that the aluminum front suspension of these vehicles is likely to crack into copy. This part connects the front wheel to a break assembly and other essential parts. If this part becomes bad while driving, then the control of the vehicle may deteriorate. This malfunction can cause serious accidents at high speed. In fact, NHTSA started an initial investigation of around 91,856 vehicles in June 2025, in which there were cases of front steering copy.
Pressure on JLR already
This recall has come at a time when JLR is already struggling with a decrease in demand and the impact of American tariffs. In the first quarter of FY 26, the consolidated net profit of Tata Motors was Rs 4,003 crore, which is 62.2% less than the previous year. The revenue of JLR also declined 9.2% to 6.6 billion pounds as compared to the previous year. The company cited low sales, tariff influence and closure of old Jaguar models in a phased manner behind this.
Change of leadership
JLR is also going through a period of leadership change at this time. PB Balaji will take over as the new CEO of the company from November 17, 2025. This large recall by JLR is not just a technical problem, but another link in the current challenges of the company. However, the company’s free repair offer shows that it is serious about the safety of customers.
