Barmer. Record voting took place today in Barmer Lok Sabha constituency, which became the country’s most talked about hot seat in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections. For the Barmer-Jaisalmer Lok Sabha seat located on the India-Pakistan border, 69.79 percent voting had taken place till 5 pm, an hour before the end of voting. Despite this, there are long lines at the booths. Although the voting time has ended at 6 pm, those who were in the booth till this time will be able to cast their vote. The doors of the booths were closed at six o’clock. By 5 pm, 59.19 percent voting had taken place in 10 hours across Rajasthan.
According to Barmer District Election Officer, Barmer-Jaisalmer Lok Sabha constituency is moving towards record voting. In Barmer-Jaisalmer Balotra Lok Sabha seat, 69.79 percent votes have been cast till 5 pm. Among these, maximum voting took place in Jaisalmer. There, 74.98 percent voting had taken place till 5 pm. Whereas in this Lok Sabha constituency, 72.99 percent voting has taken place in Shiv, 73.20 percent in Barmer, 73.60 percent in Baytu, 69.79 in Chauhtan, 72.02 in Gudamalani, 63.92 in Pachpadra and 57.90 in Siwana.
New voters who voted for the first time in Kota were honored with certificates.
51.75 votes were recorded in the lowest Pali Lok Sabha seat.
Voting has taken place for 13 seats in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections across Rajasthan. Along with this, elections have also been held for Bagidaura assembly seat of Banswara Lok Sabha constituency. In Rajasthan, 59.19 percent voting has been done till 5 pm on all 13 seats of the second phase. Among these, the highest turnout was recorded at 69.79 in Barmer Lok Sabha seat and the lowest at 51.75 in Pali Lok Sabha seat. This percentage of voting will still increase. Voting percentage figures will be updated by late night.
Better voting has been recorded in the second phase than in the first phase.
Apart from Barmer and Pali, better voting has been recorded in other seats also till 5 pm compared to the first phase. In this phase, apart from Barmer-Jaisalmer seat, Kota, Jalore-Sirohi, Banswara and Jodhpur seats remain hot. Everyone’s eyes are on them. Till 5 pm, 58.35 percent votes were cast in Jodhpur, 57.75 percent in Jalore-Sirohi Lok Sabha constituency, 59.54 percent in Udaipur Lok Sabha constituency, 65.23 in Jhalawar-Baran, 52.38 percent in Ajmer parliamentary constituency and 61.81 percent for Chittorgarh Lok Sabha seat.
Controversy over voting in Thumbali
During voting, there was a dispute regarding voting in Thumbali of Barmer Lok Sabha constituency. While trying to calm the matter, Congress workers also had a minor clash with the police. Two people got injured in this. Later, Baytu MLA of Congress reached the spot regarding this matter. During this, there was a heated argument between MLA Harish Chaudhary and Range IG. MLA Choudhary was also sitting on strike for some time regarding this matter. But then the dispute was resolved.
