The reason for heavy rains in these states is the formation of a low pressure area in the north-east of Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, there is also a low pressure area over Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, rescue and relief work is still going on in the disaster-hit areas. NDRF along with army and police continued the rescue operation in Wayanad, Kerala on Sunday as well. More than 300 people have died in the landslide here in the past few days and about 200 people are reported missing. At the same time, after the cloudburst incident in Himachal, the death toll has gone up to 13 after the bodies of a woman and her daughter were found in Rajban of Mandi district. 45 people are still missing in Himachal Pradesh. They are being searched. Cloudburst incidents took place in Mandi, Kullu and Shimla districts of Himachal. Due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, traffic has also been disrupted at many places. 191 roads are currently closed in Himachal Pradesh.

At the same time, 17000 people trapped in the disaster areas of Uttarakhand, another hill state, have been rescued. These include 370 people stranded on the Kedarnath route. All efforts are on to rescue all of them with the help of NDRF, SDRF and Air Force helicopters. A cloudburst occurred in Kangan in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Due to this, the Srinagar-Leh highway was closed. This highway could be opened again in the evening. Many houses have been damaged due to the debris from the cloudburst. However, there is no news of any casualties here.
