Yogi Adityanath took oath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Like in 2017, two deputy chief ministers also took oath along with Yogi Adityanath. But this time the name of a Deputy Chief Minister was such that surprised everyone. In fact, this time BJP decided to make Brajesh Pathak as Deputy Chief Minister instead of Dinesh Sharma. While Keshav Prasad Maurya managed to save his deputy chief minister’s chair even after losing the assembly elections. Brajesh Pathak is also said to be close to Amit Shah and Amit Shah has praised him many times.
Brajesh Pathak has also contested the assembly elections in 2002 on a Congress ticket but lost. Then joined BSP and in 2004, Lok Sabha MP has also been elected on BSP ticket. In 2009, Mayawati sent Brijesh Pathak to the Rajya Sabha and contested the Lok Sabha elections from Unnao in 2014 but Brijesh Pathak lost. Brajesh Pathak was said to be very close to BSP supremo Mayawati and it is said that after Satish Chandra Mishra, Brajesh Pathak was the closest Brahmin leader of Mayawati. Before the 2017 elections, Brajesh Pathak had joined BJP in the presence of the then BJP National President Amit Shah. After that Pathak was nominated by the BJP from Lucknow Central and he reached the assembly after winning and became the Law Minister in the Yogi government.
In the 2022 assembly elections, Brajesh Pathak contested from Lucknow Cantt and won the assembly again. This time he got a big promotion in the Yogi government and he was made the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. Brajesh Pathak is counted among the big Brahmin leaders of BJP. When the matter of displeasure of Brahmins with BJP came to the fore, Brajesh Pathak played a big role in persuading the Brahmins.
Amit Shah has praised: Brajesh Pathak is also said to be close to Amit Shah and Amit Shah has praised him many times. According to a report, once a meeting was being held at the house of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Seth and Amit Shah was also present in that meeting. During that meeting, Amit Shah had described Brajesh Pathak as his true friend. Not only this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had also said during the assembly election campaign that if I do not stay in Lucknow and you have some work, then you will meet Brajesh Pathak.
Criticized the government during Corona: When the second wave of Corona came in the country and there was an outcry, during that time Brajesh Pathak wrote a letter and criticized the functioning of the officials of his own government. In 2018, when Apple manager Vinay Tiwari was shot dead by the police in Lucknow, Brajesh Pathak also raised questions about the functioning of the police.
