Despite all the possibilities of forming the government in Himachal Pradesh in the upcoming assembly elections, the leaders of the state Congress are engaged in a campaign to change the leaders instead of making a strategy to win the election. Recently, all the big leaders of the party, including State Congress President Kuldeep Singh Rathore and Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, had a marathon meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi in Delhi, in which many leaders of the state made it clear that the upcoming assembly elections under the current leadership of the party in the state. Winning is not easy.
These leaders have also come by advocating for some other changes in the party. From flaws to merits, many things have happened in this party meeting. There has also been a demand to declare who will be the chief minister’s face before the upcoming elections. There are 12 leaders in the party who have declared themselves as Chief Ministers inside. Every leader aspires to become the Chief Minister.
There are many doubts in the party’s leadership about what this ruckus going on within the Congress over its chair will feed it in the coming days. Only the leaders of the party say that everyone in the Congress is fighting for himself. No one is ready to work for the party. If this situation continues, then in future many party leaders will turn to the Aam Aadmi Party. These Congress leaders had definitely shown solidarity in the by-elections. But the manner in which the campaign to capture the party is going on after that victory is not a good sign for the party.
Recently, former state president of Youth Congress, Manish Thakur left the party and took membership of the Aam Aadmi Party. He also wrote in his resignation that he raised the issue of political dictatorship of the top leaders of the party and giving preference to the friends in the party. Not only this, he also said about the state in-charge Rajiv Shukla that he talks in the air. Shimla Municipal Corporation elections strategy meeting in Chandigarh. Whereas Aam Aadmi Party and BJP are working to connect the youth with them in the state.
Manish Thakur is just an example. In such a situation, there are many leaders who are marginalized and who want to work for Congress but no one is ready to join them. These leaders also supported the Congress in the by-elections. They were hopeful that they would get respect in the party, but after winning the by-election, the attitude of the party leaders changed and they have started dealing with everyone in such a way that their government has already been formed.
In such a situation, these marginalized leaders of the party are now looking towards the third alternative emerging politically in the state, Aam Aadmi Party and Aam Aadmi Party is leaving no chance to capture them.
It was clear in the meeting with Sonia that there would be a ruckus.
After the meeting of Congress leaders with Sonia Gandhi, it has become clear that the turmoil within the party is not going to calm down yet. Although these leaders have come in shock due to the recent defeat of the Congress in five states, but still they are not ready to accept the ground reality. After meeting with Sonia Gandhi, these leaders came out and said that Aam Aadmi Party has no base in Himachal. The party’s fight is with the BJP. It also makes it clear that the party leaders are either not aware of what is going on on the political ground of the state or they are not ready to accept the reality.
Shimla Municipal Corporation elections important
Shimla Municipal Corporation elections are going to be held in the coming days. The Shimla Municipal Corporation was occupied by the Congress for a long time. The last time the BJP took over the municipal corporation, it had to join the rebels of Congress. This time apart from the Left party, the Aam Aadmi Party has also announced to contest the corporation elections. In such a situation, the distribution of votes will be done at four places and maximum votes will be distributed by the Congress itself.
The party has not made any strategy regarding this yet. After the by-elections, how much hold the Congress has on the people and how united the party is, it will be reflected in the corporation elections. Apart from this, in these elections, the indication of which party will be formed in the assembly elections to be held later this year will also be found.
