Karthikeya Chidambaram, MP son of Congress leader P Chidambaram has said that the government is taking a lot of caution regarding the earnings of PMO’s YouTube channel. He says that he wanted to ask a question about it in Parliament but he was not allowed to speak. They want to know why the government is showing such an attitude in this matter?
In his post, Chidambaram asked whether advertisements were allowed to run on the channel. His question to the Center was whether its content was monetized, did it generate any revenue? He also asked whether they are also screened?
Chidambaram wrote on his Twitter handle that his query regarding the Prime Minister’s YouTube channel has been rejected on the ground that it is not a subject of the Government of India. His question was that it is surprising that the government of the official channel of the PMO does not care.
On the other hand, according to a PTI report, the number of subscribers of PM Modi’s YouTube channel is more than one crore. While former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has 5.25 lakh followers on YouTube. Shashi Tharoor is also very active on social media but only 4.39 lakh people follow him. Both are far behind Modi in this matter. Not only this, no other leader is around PM Modi on other platforms of social media as well. The number of people who follow Modi is much more than the leaders of other political parties.
Comparing the followers of PM Modi with global leaders, the numbers are astonishing. US President Joe Biden has more than seven million followers on YouTube. At the same time, more than 36 lakh people follow the President of Brazil, Bolsonaro. The President of Mexico is followed by 30.7 million people and the President of Indonesia is followed by 28.8 million people on YouTube. Needless to say that PM Modi is very ahead in this matter.
