A big decision has been taken in the meeting of Yogi cabinet held on Saturday. The Yogi Adityanath government has decided to provide free ration to the people of the state for the next 3 months. After the cabinet meeting, CM Yogi Adityanath, while addressing the press conference, informed about the government’s decision to provide free ration for the next 3 months. CM Yogi said that 15 crore people of the state would be benefited by this.
CM Yogi told that this food scheme was ending in March 2022. It was decided in the cabinet that this scheme will be continued till June 2022. According to the announcement made by CM Yogi, apart from 35 kg of food grains, Antyodaya card holders will continue to get one kg of sugar, pulses, salt and one liter of oil free of cost. He said that 15 crore people of UP will continue to get free ration for the next three months.
The discussion of free ration scheme was also in full swing during the assembly elections held in Uttar Pradesh. On one hand, the BJP government was counting it as its achievement, while on the other hand, the Samajwadi Party had also made a big announcement about it. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had announced that if the Samajwadi Party government is formed in the state, then he will give free ration for the next five years.

During the Uttar Pradesh elections, one of the issues was of free ration and the BJP appeared to be getting the benefit of this scheme. In the first term of the Yogi government, those who were angry for one reason or the other also admitted that they get ration. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi also took a dig at this plan of BJP. Priyanka Gandhi had said that now people are being given ration. If there is an election, sacks of food grains are being sent to the homes of some people.
