The results of the UP elections are out, but the discussion about the results is still going on. Many party leaders including Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav are raising questions about EVMs. SP leaders claim that BJP got lead in only 99 seats in the postal ballot, while SP got lead in 304 seats. SP leaders are fearing EVM rigging.
sp leader Swami Prasad Maurya told ANI During the conversation, he said, “It is not about BJP and SP, it is about democracy, it is about fairness and transparency of the Election Commission. Naturally, the 2022 assembly elections took place, in which the SP won 304 in ballot paper voting while the BJP won only 99 seats. But how BJP won in EVM count is a big question in itself. The SP, which won 304 seats, fell behind, the BJP, which won 99 seats on the ballot paper, got ahead in EVMs.”
Swami Prasad Maurya raised questions about the results of EVMs and postal ballots and expressed apprehension that somewhere a big game has happened. He said, “Whoever is in the media or other power society people, they should analyze the results on how we can empower the electoral process in a more transparent manner. So this is a question that the public wants an answer to.”
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has also expressed apprehension about the results. Akhilesh Yadav tweeted on Tuesday While writing that, “The SP-Alliance got 51.5% votes in the postal ballot and accordingly the victory of the SP-Alliance in 304 seats is telling the truth of the election. Thanks to every true government employee, teacher and voter who cast the postal ballot who voted for us sincerely. Remember those in power, deceit does not give strength.”
Regarding the election results of UP, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had also said that the elections have not been fair. Mamta Banerjee had said that EVMs have been looted and rigged to defeat the SP. He advised Akhilesh Yadav to demand forensic investigation of EVMs.
