Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from the post of Punjab Congress Chief. He has told that he has taken this step at the behest of the interim chief of the party, Sonia Gandhi.
Prior to Sidhu, Uttar Pradesh state party president Ajay Kumar Lallu had resigned from his post, taking moral responsibility for the crushing defeat in the assembly elections. He submitted his resignation letter to Gandhi and shared the letter on Twitter on Tuesday night.
By the way, shortly after Sonia’s instructions, Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Ganesh Godiyal also announced his resignation.
Let us tell you that after the crushing defeat of the Congress in the recent assembly elections, the Congress leadership took a big action a day earlier on March 15, 2022, asking the party presidents of the five electoral states to resign.
