For better management of the huge crowd of devotees gathering on Chardham Yatra and for safe journey, the Uttarakhand government on Wednesday implemented mandatory registration, while a case was registered in 9 cases of going on Kedarnath Yatra through fake registration. Since the start of the Yatra on May 10, 8,52,018 pilgrims have visited the four Dhams in the first 13 days. Officials said that ‘offline’ registration has been stopped in Haridwar and Rishikesh and now devotees can come on Chardham Yatra only after ‘online’ registration.
He said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is very serious about the systematic, easy, safe and convenient journey of the devotees coming from all over the country and the world on the Chardham Yatra. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has issued an advisory for the devotees, in which they have been requested to come on the yatra only after registration. The advisory states that if they come without registration, they may be stopped at the ‘barrier’ or ‘check point’ and this will cause them immense inconvenience.
Come on the trip only on the scheduled date
Pilgrims have also been advised that after registration, they should come on the pilgrimage only on the scheduled date and go on the same route for which they have registered. In the advisory, the ‘tour and travel’ agencies organizing the pilgrimage have also been asked to ensure that the pilgrims have registered or not and whether the ‘trip card’ has been issued to the passenger vehicle carrying the pilgrims or not. Meanwhile, Rudraprayag police has lodged FIR in 9 cases of fake registrations found during investigation. These cases include cases of coming on Kedarnath Yatra on fake registration and showing the date of May by doing fraud in the registration of later dates.
