Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has said that there may be relief from the scorching heat in the next three days. There is a possibility of reduction in heatwave in North-West, Central and East India during the next 48 hours. There may be sporadic to heavy rainfall in Northeast India within the next 4-5 days.
There may be heavy rain here till June 2
According to the Meteorological Department, during the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains were recorded in Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Nagaland and Sikkim. Heavy rains are expected in these states till June 2. During this period, 115.5-204.4 mm of rain can be recorded.
There is a possibility of rain with strong winds in these states
The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Kerala till June 4. Heavy rainfall is also likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands from May 31 to June 2 and over Tamil Nadu and Karnataka from June 1 to June 3. Strong surface winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) are likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema and Karnataka during June 3, the weather report said.

According to the Meteorological Department, heatwave is expected to continue in different parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and Odisha till June 2. Heatwave will prevail in different parts of East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand on Saturday.
