Electric vehicle buyers in the Indian market are likely to get a new option soon. French automaker Renault is looking to launch its new electric crossover Megane E-Tech in the Indian market. The company showcased this car during the Munich Auto Show last year. This car has been prepared by the company on the CMF-EV platform. The company can offer this electric car with two different battery packs.
The Megane e-Tech is not the first car in Renault’s international line-up for India. The carmaker is also looking at introducing the Arcana SUV Coupe to spur interest in the brand. About which details were recently revealed in media reports. The Megan e-Tech has been designed based on the design of the Megan eVision concept model introduced in the year 2020. It gets the same crossover-inspired theme as the concept model along with contrasting inserts on the bumper.
Inside the car, the company has used its traditional OpenR display, which has a 12.3-inch instrument display in L-shape and a 12-inch portrait infotainment touchscreen infotainment system. However, this car has a longer wheelbase than the Megan hatchback, which provides better cabin space inside the car.
Eleven km will run in a single charge:According to media reports, the same electric motor has been used in this electric crossover, which comes with two different tunes. Its one variant generates the power of 130 PS and the other variant generates the power of 218 PS. It is being told that this car is capable of catching 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.4 seconds and its top speed is 160 kmph.

In this crossover electric car, the company has used two different battery packs taken from LG. It has a 40 kWh battery pack and another 60 kWh capacity battery pack, which gives a driving range of up to 299 km and 470 km, respectively, on a single charge. It is being told that the company can introduce a larger battery pack in the Indian market, and this car will be brought to India through the Complete Built Unit (CBU) route.
However, nothing can be said about the price of the Renault Megane E-Tech electric car ahead of the launch. But experts believe that its price can be around 45 lakh rupees. The Megan e-Tech shares its platform with the Nissan Aria and comes with a 7.4 kW Wallbox charger that the company claims can charge the car in eight hours to give you a drive range of 399 km.
