Russia-Ukraine Crisis LIVE Updates: The Government of India is keeping a close eye on the Russia-Ukraine dispute. India’s concern is about 20,000 Indians living there. Of these, 18,000 are students. The latest news is that the Government of India has started a rescue operation on these students to bring them home. Air India’s special flight has left for Ukraine’s capital Kiev, which will return to New Delhi today with Indian students. According to the information, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India has arranged three such flights. Today the first flight took off.
Government of India has already issued a warning
According to official information, these flights will land at Kiev’s Boryspil International Airport and will also take off from here. Bookings were opened last week through Air India offices, website, call centers and authorized travel agents. Earlier, the Tata Group-run airline wrote in a tweet, ‘Air India will operate 3 flights between India-Ukraine (Borispil International Airport) on 22 and 26 February. Booking can be done through Air India booking offices as well as website, call centers and authorized travel agents. The Indian embassy in Ukraine has already asked its citizens, especially students, who do not need to stay there, to temporarily leave Kiev amid growing fears over Russian aggression.
Tensions have escalated over Ukraine in the past few months. Russia and NATO have been accusing each other of mobilizing troops along the Ukrainian border. The latest news is that Russia has recognized two separate regions of Ukraine as independent countries in what is being seen as an invasion. All the big western countries including America, Britain have flared up.
