Bangalore. Suspended Janata Dal (Secular) leader Prajwal Revanna has booked a return flight from Munich to Bengaluru on May 30, official sources said on Wednesday. Revanna is facing sexual assault charges. According to sources in the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Revanna, the 33-year-old grandson of JD(S) supremo HD Devegowda, is likely to reach Bengaluru on May 31.
He said that the SIT is keeping a constant watch at Kempegowda airport here to arrest Revanna as soon as he reaches Bengaluru. Revanna, who is contesting again as a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha seat, fled abroad soon after the news came out that the Karnataka State Women’s Commission has ordered Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to investigate the objectionable videos in which Revanna is allegedly seen sexually abusing several women.
So far, two cases of sexual assault have been registered against Revanna. The Hassan MP had released a video message two days ago in which he promised to appear before the SIT on May 31 and cooperate in the investigation. Sources said Revanna had earlier cancelled flight tickets from Germany twice. Meanwhile, the SIT on Tuesday conducted searches at Revanna’s residence in the district headquarters of Hassan which continued till late night. He said, “Some objectionable material has been seized.”
On the other hand, a special court in Bengaluru on Wednesday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of suspended Janata Dal Secular (JDS) leader Prajwal Revanna in a rape case. Revanna is accused of sexually harassing several women. The special court for elected representatives rejected the bail application filed by Revanna’s lawyer Arun.
