New Delhi/Patna. After the demonstration and violence in many states including Bihar against the recruitment of Agniveers in the Army’s Agneepath scheme, the Modi government has decided to review the plan today. At the same time, the agitators have called for a Bihar bandh today. The movement started with the announcement of the plan. During this there has been a lot of violence and arson. Sources said that in view of the situation prevailing for the last two days, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Agniveer will review the plan today. The Chief of the Air Staff, the Chief of the Navy and officials of the Defense Ministry will be in the meeting to be reviewed. Army Chief General Manoj Pandey will not be present in the meeting. He has gone to Hyderabad for the passing out parade of the Air Force.
After the Agniveer scheme, Bihar has seen the highest number of demonstrations and violence. Due to this, the operation of at least 300 trains has been affected. According to railway officials, more than 200 trains have had to be canceled due to violence so far. The agitators torched 60 coaches of 13 trains. The train coaches parked on the washing line were set on fire by stopping the moving trains. Engines of many trains were also burnt. In the East-Central Zone of the Railways, 64 trains had to be stopped before the destination. Due to this common people are facing great difficulties.
On the other hand, today the agitators have called for a Bihar bandh. In view of this, the Nitish government has asked the police and the administration of the districts to be vigilant. However, the way the violence is going on in Bihar for the last two days, the Nitish government’s police has failed to deal with it. The agitators were successful in vandalizing railway stations, looting cash and platform stalls and arson in trains in the presence of police. Because of this, fingers are also being raised on Nitish Kumar. This discussion on social media has gained momentum that the Nitish government is deliberately not tightening the crackdown on the miscreants. So that he can teach a lesson to BJP.
