New revelations are being made every day in the case of rape and murder of a junior doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. Meanwhile, many misleading claims are also being made on social media. In one claim, it is being said that 150 grams or 150 ml of sperm has been found in the body of the lady doctor. This has come to light in the postmortem report. But the reality is something else. According to the real postmortem report, the 150 grams that is being talked about is not sperm, but the weight of the victim’s uterus and other organs.
In this regard, AnyTV spoke to several senior forensic experts who have worked in the Central Forensic Lab. A senior forensic expert said that whenever doctors do a postmortem of someone, they definitely record the weight of the organs. The 150 grams or milligrams that is being talked about in this case is actually not a liquid like sperm. He said, I have seen the postmortem report of that girl. The postmortem was done by a panel of three doctors. These included at least two female forensic scientists and doctors. Two doctors from RG Kar Medical College and a doctor from NRS Medical College were also present at that time.
What did the forensic expert see on the spot
When the forensic team reached the spot about five hours after the incident, the liquid lying there had become like a stain. The team of experts collected some samples from the floor there. There was no liquid like sperm there, because it had already solidified and turned into a stain. The samples collected by the forensic team include blood, sperm and swabs. These samples were deposited in the Central Forensic Lab on August 12, three days after the incident. It took so long because there is a special process to deposit them in the Central Forensic Lab. Many protocols have to be followed.
What will DNA profiling reveal?
The report of the Central Forensic Lab is expected to come by next Wednesday. After this, all the information will be sent to the CBI. This report will have detailed DNA profiling to identify the person involved in the crime. DNA will also reveal how many people were present at the time of the incident. AnyTV spoke to many senior forensic experts who have worked in the Central Forensic Lab. Many of them have also been senior IPS officers and are considered experts in solving sensitive and complex cases like rape-murder. According to them, the uterus is the organ that keeps fluids like sperm safe for a long time. Once it is collected and put inside the machine for DNA profiling, there can be no external influence. Profiling takes time, but it gives almost accurate information.
