RG Kar Medical College Case: Calcutta High Court also handed over the investigation of financial irregularities in RG Kar Medical College to CBI

New Delhi. The Calcutta High Court has handed over the investigation of ‘financial irregularities’ in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital from SIT to CBI. The Mamata Banerjee government had formed SIT to investigate this matter. The High Court has given this order on the petition of Akhtar Ali, former Deputy Superintendent of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Justice Rajarshi Bhardwaj has ordered the SIT to hand over all the documents related to the investigation to the CBI by 10 am tomorrow. Along with this, a progress report of the investigation of this case has been sought from the CBI after three weeks. The court has summoned the investigation report on September 17.

The court has also directed that the petitioner Akhtar Ali can apply to the CBI for protection if needed. Let us tell you that Akhtar Ali has made many shocking allegations against the former principal of the medical college, Dr. Sandeep Ghosh. Ali had said that whatever work was done in RG Kar Medical College, be it posting, transfer, hostel allotment, Dr. Sandeep Ghosh used to take money in everything. He used to fail students, take 20 percent commission in the name of tender orders. Not only this, Dr. Ghosh was involved in the racket of selling unclaimed dead bodies.

On the other hand, Kolkata’s Sealdah Court today sent Sanjay Rai, the prime accused in the RG Kar Medical College doctor rape and murder case, to 14 days judicial custody. The court’s decision on accused Sanjay Rai’s consent for polygraph test will also come today. Before this, yesterday, Sealdah Court has also given permission to conduct polygraph test of 4 junior doctors including former principal of the medical college Dr. Sandeep Ghosh. These four junior doctors had dinner with the deceased doctor on the night of the incident. Through the polygraph test, CBI wants to know what happened during the dinner.
