Is everything not going well in Trinamool Congress (TMC)? This question is being raised because the way TMC leaders are attacking their own people in the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, they are repeatedly raising questions. They are demanding responsibility. They are criticizing the government, but no one is answering them. Party leaders are also raising questions on the silence of Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee. It is being said that being the national general secretary of the party, he is participating in the party’s activities every day, but does not say anything about this.
TMC leader Kunal Ghosh posted on X on Saturday afternoon. He wrote, ‘The leftists, Congress are conspiring. We will fight it under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee. We need to correct some mistakes and we will fight, but Abhishek Banerjee should be more active. After this post, questions started arising whether people inside the party want Abhishek Banerjee to speak more openly.
On the midnight of 14th August, when the mob vandalised the RG Kar Hospital, the next day Abhishek Banerjee posted on social media. He wrote, tonight’s hooliganism and vandalism at RG Kar has crossed all limits. As a public representative, I have just spoken to the Kolkata Police Commissioner, asking him to ensure that every person responsible for the violence is identified, held accountable and brought to justice within the next 24 hours, no matter which party he belongs to. But when Mamata Banerjee took out a rally demanding the death penalty for the accused, he was not seen.
The hooliganism and vandalism at RG Kar tonight have exceeded all acceptable limits. As a public representative, I just spoke with @CPKolkata urging him to ensure that every individual responsible for today’s violence is identified, held accountable, and made to face the law…
