Old Delhi 6 team captained by Rishabh Pant lost the first match by 3 wickets. Pant missed a half-century in this match. South Delhi Superstars team won the match by 6 wickets with 5 balls remaining. In this way, the team captained by Ayush Badoni opened its account in the points table with a win.
Purani Delhi 6 vs South Delhi Superstarz team, chasing the target of 198 runs set by Purani Delhi 6, won the match by 7 wickets. Priyans Arya and Sarthak Rai shared an 87-run partnership for the first wicket to give South Delhi Superstars a great start. Priyans scored 57 runs in 30 balls while Sarthak Rai contributed 41 runs in 26 balls. Captain Ayush Badoni scored a quick 57 runs in 29 balls. He hit 6 sixes and a four. Dhruv Singh scored one run while wicketkeeper Tejaswi was run out without opening his account. Vision Panchal returned unbeaten after scoring 13 runs while Digvesh Rathi remained unbeaten on 3 runs. Shivam took the maximum of 2 wickets from Purani Delhi 6.

Rishabh Pant missed half century by 15 runs
Earlier, Old Delhi 6 team captained by Rishabh Pant batted first. Pant’s team scored 197 runs for 3 wickets. Opener Arpit Rana played an innings of 59 runs in 41 balls which included 8 fours and 2 sixes. Captain and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was seen struggling in the beginning. He played an innings of 35 runs in 32 balls, while Vansh Bedi hit a quick 47 runs in 19 balls. Vansh hit 4 fours and 4 sixes. Lalit Yadav returned unbeaten after scoring 34 runs. From South Delhi Super Stars, Divij Mehra, Ayush Badoni and Kunwar Bidhuri took one wicket each.

Singers Badshah and Sid K set the stage on fire with their performances at the opening ceremony of the Delhi Premier League. Sonam Bajwa mesmerized everyone with her dance. DDCA honoured Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan and Ishant Sharma. All three players play domestic cricket for Delhi. Dhawan and Ishant are currently out of Team India while Pant has recently returned to the team after injury. Pant was part of the T20 World Cup winning team.
