According to the information, Gautam Gambhir wanted Rohit Sharma to lead the ODI team on the Sri Lanka tour.

Hardik Pandya has been relieved from the captaincy of T20 and the command has been given to Suryakumar Yadav. Rohit Sharma will play to strengthen his preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy.
