Former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya said about the action of the police that he is ready to face any action. He said that there was no scam, not even a rupee in Vikrant fund collection. I haven’t done anything wrong. I am not afraid of any action. Somaiya said that Sanjay Raut has been making allegations but has not given evidence to prove them. I have not received the copy of the FIR registered in the case.
Kirit Somaiya said that I will continue to expose the Uddhav Thackeray government. I challenge CM Thackeray to give information available with him (in this matter), I am ready to face investigation. Somaiya, however, did not respond to whether he collected the money and handed it over to the governor or the government.
‘Corruption in the campaign to save INS Vikrant’
Earlier on Wednesday, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had accused Kirit Somaiya of financial misappropriation. Raut said that he had collected around Rs 50 crore from people as part of the mission to rescue INS Vikrant, but he did not deposit that money in the state treasury.
Raut said – CBI investigation is needed in the case
The Shiv Sena leader demanded a probe by the Maharashtra government against Somaiya, claiming that it is a suitable case for investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Income Tax (IT) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Raut said, “In the 1971 war against Pakistan, the Indian Navy played an important role, including INS Vikrant. When the condition of INS Vikrant deteriorated and it became difficult to maintain, there were campaigns to convert it into a museum. Went.”
