New Delhi. In the national capital, RSS-affiliated think tank Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP) is going to organize a seminar on ‘Danger from Dynastic Political Parties to Democratic Governance’, which will be attended by leaders of various political parties. BJP President JP Nadda will inaugurate the one-day seminar on May 19. Besides Nadda, RMP president Devendra Fadnavis, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani as well as representatives of non-dynastic parties JD(U), AIADMK and AGP will also share their views on the subject.
Union Minister R.C.P. Singh will most likely represent the JD(U) and Tambi Durai will represent the AIADMK.
BJP Rajya Sabha member, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said, “In India, at least 4/5 of the 50 major political parties out of 2,700 registered and recognized parties are dynastic-based. This incident seriously reduces the options available to a voter. because it affects the element of competition.”
He said that in such dynastic-run parties under the current mechanism, a single family controls practically everything, making decisions regarding party finances, party membership, candidatures, alliances and political participation. It acts as the death knell for internal democracy in the parties.
He said, “A party giving candidature to sons and daughters of its leaders is one thing and a family gaining complete control over the party is another. The latter is most harmful to democracy. One can predict That the head child of the family is certain to become the party president after three decades and this is seriously objectionable.”
“The recommendations developed at the end of the deliberations will be submitted to the Election Commission of India,” said RMP Director General Ravindra Sathe.
