Mumbai/Kolkata. There is a rift in Congress regarding West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee. In fact, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge drew the line of decorum on the issue of Mamata Banerjee in front of Bengal Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Choudhary. Although Adhir, who was a vocal opponent of Mamta, still did not agree and has now started showing rebellious attitude.
Actually, Congress National President Kharge was talking to media persons in Mumbai on Saturday, when some journalists asked him a question about Mamata Banerjee. On this, Kharge made it clear that ‘Mamata ji is a part of the India alliance.’
‘Who is impatient to take decisions?’
When asked whether the statements of Bengal Congress chief Adhir regarding TMC do not match the stand of the Congress leadership, Kharge said, ‘He (Chowdhary) is not the one to take decisions. We are there to decide, Congress will decide, the high command is here. Therefore, whatever we decide will be right. Whatever we decide will have to be followed and if anyone does not follow it, he will have to go out.

Adhir showed rebellious attitude
Despite this strict warning from Kharge, instead of softening the attitude of Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, he seemed to be rebelling. When Adhir was asked about this statement of the Congress President, he said that he ‘cannot sympathize with anyone who is ruining the Congress in Bengal’. Adhir Chaudhary told reporters, ‘I cannot stop this fight as a party soldier. My fight (against TMC) is an ideological fight. This is not a personal fight. In Bengal we are trying to save the party. Both BJP and TMC are together. They want to make the elections in the state two-party by joining hands with each other in Bengal.

Earlier, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary had given a strong reaction to Mamata Banerjee’s statement in which the TMC supremo had said that ‘if the India coalition government is formed, TMC will provide support from outside.’ On this, Adhir had said on Friday, ‘I do not trust him. He is different from the India group. Now she is trying to meet with us because she realizes that we are becoming stronger at the national level.
‘India Block’s door opened for Mamta’
When Kharge was asked for his opinion on Mamata Banerjee’s statement, he said, ‘Mamata ji had earlier said that she will provide support from outside. There are similar examples in the past also. In 2004, the communists also supported the UPA government from outside, but after that Mamata ji also said that she would be a part of the Indian government, from this it is clear that she is with the alliance.
Adhir Ranjan’s statements regarding Mamata Banerjee and then Mallikarjun Kharge’s warning have once again heated up the market of political speculation in Bengal. Political observers say that the latest internal differences within the Congress regarding Trinamool Congress may increase political turmoil in West Bengal in the coming days.
