Hyderabad. The case of Rohit Vemula’s death is once again in the headlines. In fact, Rohit’s mother and brother have expressed doubt on the closure report filed by Telangana Police in this case. However, now Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Ravi Gupta has ordered further investigation into the Rohith Vemula suicide case after the controversy escalated.
Earlier on Friday, Rohith Vemula’s family had said that they will legally challenge the closure report of Telangana Police in Rohith’s suicide case. Rohit’s brother Raja Vemula claimed that the District Magistrate (DM) did not take any decision regarding the family being a Scheduled Caste.
Referring to the suspicion expressed by Rohith Vemula’s family, Telangana Director General of Police Ravi Gupta said in a statement late on Friday that a petition would be filed in the concerned court and the magistrate would be requested to allow further investigation. DGP Gupta said, ‘Since the mother of deceased Rohit Vemula and others have expressed some doubts on the investigation, it has been decided to investigate further in the case.’

This may be one of constant fear as its exposure could result in the withdrawal of his academic degrees which he had earned over the years and he would be forced to face prosecution.’ According to the report, ‘despite all efforts, no evidence was found to prove that the actions of the accused instigated the deceased to commit suicide.’
