Mumbai: Today, the Election Commission held a press conference on the questions raised about hacking of EVMs in Maharashtra. In this press conference, the Election Commission clarified on the issue of hacking EVMs and made it clear that EVMs cannot be hacked. After this, Election Officer of Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat Vandana Suryavanshi held a press conference and said that these allegations are completely wrong and no OTP is required to unlock EVMs. She said that EVMs cannot be connected to any device.
Politicians making up false stories
Apart from this, Returning Officer Vandana Suryavanshi has issued a notice to the newspaper for spreading misinformation about EVMs and creating doubts in the Indian election system. She said that no OTP can be sent to the mobile phone to unlock the EVM, as it is non-programmable and has no wireless communication capability. This is a complete lie spread by a newspaper, which is being used by some politicians to create a false story.

Returning Officer Vandana Suryavanshi said that an incident of unauthorized use of the mobile phone of an authorized person by an associate of a candidate has come to light at the counting center of Mumbai North West constituency. A criminal case has already been registered by the Returning Officer. She said that no OTP can be sent to the mobile to unlock the EVM, as it is not programmable and has no wireless communication capability. This is a blatant lie being spread by a newspaper, which is being used by some politicians to fabricate a false story.
No chance of any alteration
He further said that EVMs are single devices, with no wired or wireless connectivity with units outside the EVM system. Advanced technical features and strong administrative security measures are in place to rule out any possibility of manipulation. The security measures include conducting everything in the presence of candidates or their agents.
