Itarsi (Narmadapuram). The situation is deteriorating after Russia launched an offensive against Ukraine. The Russian army is now rapidly hurling missiles at residential and interior areas of Ukraine, where in Poltava, medical student Tanuja Patel and other Indian students have been ordered to return to their country. Tanuja’s maternal uncle Manoj Saran told that the attacks on the Russian side have been intensified on Saturday, the atmosphere of panic is increasing continuously in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian government does not expect the situation to return to normal at the moment. There was a crisis of essential commodities and food for non-resident Indians in Poltava, due to which the Poltava State Medical University allowed Indian children to leave the country and return to their homes. Emergency has also been implemented here. The situation is worsening due to continuous war. Barely in the evening, while talking to her maternal uncle Manoj Saran on video call, Tanuja told that we have left for Romania via Hungary in three-four vehicles by paying four times the fare. After a journey of about 17 hours, they will reach Romania, where the Government of India and Ukraine has arranged for our return home.
Saran said that there have been no missile attacks in Poltava so far, but the route through which the NRIs are returning is being continuously attacked by the Russian army, thus making Saturday night’s journey dangerous. Children returning home are frightened, with telecommunications disrupted in Ukraine cutting off contact.
foreign minister will talk
Saran told that Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar is also trying to talk to Tanuja through a news channel, but the network is not available. Indian Embassy officials are also engaged in the safe return of citizens stranded in various cities of Ukraine.
