Summary
Minister Dimitro Kuleba said that I believe in the power of the free world and our combined ability to avert a new devastating catastrophe in Europe. 40 million Ukrainians just want to live in peace and togetherness.
Tension between Russia and Ukraine has now reached its peak. America has expressed apprehension that war could break out at any time. Amid rising tensions, Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs Minister Dmitro Kuleba said on Tuesday that this is the biggest security crisis the world is facing since World War II.
Speaking at the UN, he said that we are currently in the midst of the biggest security crisis in Europe since World War II. This crisis was created and is being escalated unilaterally by the Russian Federation on the one hand. Russia’s accusations on Ukraine are absurd. Kuleba warned the world not to repeat the mistakes of the past.
He further said in his address that I believe in the power of the free world and our combined ability to avert a new devastating catastrophe in Europe. 40 million Ukrainians just want to live in peace and togetherness. The Ukrainian minister also reiterated that Ukraine has never threatened or attacked anyone. He said that Ukraine has never planned nor planned any military strikes in the Donbass.
He urged the UNGA to stop Russia, saying that we need to use this last chance to stop Russia where it is. It is clear that President Putin himself will not stop. A massive war in Ukraine would be the beginning of the end of the world order as we know it.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s top security official said Ukraine has initiated a state of emergency in all Ukrainian regions except the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The official said the state of emergency would last for 30 days and could be extended for another 30 days. Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to sit at the negotiating table.
