Bhishma is the top tank of the Indian Army

Most of the tank’s parts, including the hull (bottom), are imported from Russia. Along with this, other 70 parts also come from Russia. It is a different matter that the Indian Army has made minor changes in the design of this tank according to its own, but the basic structure is Russian.
The help of France has been taken regarding the weapon system of the tank. Defense experts say that Bhishma has a big role in other weapons and equipment for the cordial relations between the two countries. C. Sreekumar, general secretary of the All India Defense Employees Federation, says this tank is discussed in the world. Bhishma can be called an upgraded version of the T-72 tank. Its firepower is perfect.
India-Russia agreement from 2021 to 2031
If India had taken the field against Russia in the Battle of Ukraine, many security agreements could have been affected. Three or four days after the war, the discussion started gaining momentum as to whether India is not supporting Ukraine because it has strategic interests with Russia. India is dependent on Russia for many important equipment related to defense technology. C. Sreekumar says, if the Indian government does not take the defense industry out of the purview of PSUs, then in the coming time other equipment including tanks can be manufactured indigenously.
However, the central government has converted Indian ordnance factories into companies. As Sreekumar, this is a wrong move. This will adversely affect the defense industry. Last year, India and Russia signed a defense deal worth Rs 5,100 crore for AK-203 rifles. These rifles will be manufactured in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh. More than five lakh rifles will be made here. An agreement has been signed between Russia and India on cooperation in military technology from 2021 to 2031.
