Russia-Ukrine War: The Russian President may have to pay a big price for the attack on Ukraine. The European Union has agreed to freeze European assets belonging to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. This action has been taken in protest against the order of the President of Russia to attack Ukraine. After this move of the EU, the assets of both the leaders in Europe will be completely frozen. Apart from this, many other economic sanctions are being imposed on Russia. Countries in Asia and the Pacific have supported new punitive measures against Russian banks and leading companies.

Hundreds of people have died so far due to Russia’s attack on Ukraine (Russia-Ukraine War). Officials at the United Nations have announced a grant of $ 20 million to speed up humanitarian operations in Ukraine. South Korean President Moon Jae-in said his country would support international sanctions but would not consider unilateral sanctions. While most of the countries of Asia have supported Ukraine, on the other hand China has condemned the sanctions on Russia.

The International Olympic Association has urged all international sports federations to cancel or reschedule all events related to the Games in Russia and Belarus. In this episode, the Russian Grand Prix 2022 competition has been cancelled. The Russian Grand Prix was due to take place at the Olympic Park in Sochi on 25 September 2022, but F1 organizers said it was impossible to hold in the current circumstances. It has been tweeted that the Russian Grand Prix of Formula 1 has been canceled in view of the invasion in Ukraine.

Earlier, UEFA has also snatched the hosting of the Champions League final from St Petersburg after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Now it will be in Paris, the capital of France. Russia has strongly objected to this move.
