Igor Polikha said, we are seeking support from India
He said that in the current situation, we are seeking and soliciting support from India. I am an ambassador in India. Polikha said the world was hoping for a peaceful solution till the last moment. Till the very last moment our President was asking for bilateral talks with Russia. We have confirmed that several Ukrainian airports, military air bases, military installations have been attacked with bombs and missiles. Some of the attacks took place on the outskirts of the capital, the ambassador said. Some attacks took place in the interior of Ukraine.
Putin launches military action
Earlier today Russian President Vladimir Putin said special military operations were being launched to protect residents of eastern Ukraine. He also warned other countries that any attempt to interfere with Russian action would have dire consequences.
Leaders of several countries, including Britain, the United States, Canada and the European Union, have condemned Russia’s military operations in the Donbass region. The Indian Embassy in Kiev today said that the current situation in Ukraine is extremely uncertain and Indian citizens should remain calm and safe amid the deteriorating situation in Ukraine.
