Ukraine’s state nuclear company says many Russian soldiers who captured the nuclear power plant in Chernobyl are gone. Ukraine said two units of Russian troops had moved towards the Belarusian border, with only a few left on the spot.
Giving this information, Ukraine’s nuclear power operator company said that Russian troops were leaving the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and moving towards Ukraine’s border with Belarus.
Nuclear power operator Energoatom said the Russian military was also preparing to leave the nearby town of Slavutik, where nuclear power plant workers live.
According to Energoatum, the reports received confirmed that Russian troops had also dug trenches in the Red Forest area of 10 km area around the Chernobyl plant. Russian soldiers had also suffered radiation. Russian soldiers fell ill due to radiation, and after that it was decided to leave the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The four active power plants in Ukraine have 15 nuclear reactors and the Chernobyl plant, which was the epicenter of the 1986 nuclear tragedy. The Russian military took control of the largest active power plants in Chernobyl and Zaporizhia.
