Uttarkashi: Voting is going on for all the five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand. The enthusiasm of the voters is visible at the polling booths. Not only the elderly, women and youth are coming to vote, the disabled people are also not lagging behind. Seeing Vimal Singh coming to vote at Tulyada booth of Yamunotri assembly constituency of Uttarkashi district, everyone is saluting his brother. When handicapped voter Vimal Singh, who was unable to walk, reached the Tulyada booth to vote, everyone kept looking at him.
Salute to the spirit of Vimal Singh
Actually, disabled Vimal Singh came to vote sitting in a doli to vote. Four youths carried him in a palanquin and reached the polling booth. With the help of administrative staff they exercised their franchise. Vimal Singh’s passion and courage are being discussed everywhere. Vimal has appealed to all the people to vote.
CM Dhami stood in line and voted
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Yoga guru Ramdev were among the first to vote in the state. Dhami cast his vote at Nagla Terai polling station in Khatima in Udham Singh Nagar district. Dhami, who arrived to vote with his mother and wife Geeta, stood in the queue at the center and waited for his turn. Dhami, who came out after voting, appealed to all the voters to cast their vote.
Baba Ramdev also voted
At the same time, Baba Ramdev along with Patanjali General Secretary Acharya Balkrishna cast his vote at Dadubagh polling station in Kankhal area of Haridwar. After voting he said that he had voted to free India from economic, educational and cultural slavery. He also appealed to the people to vote and elect a government which will strengthen the eternal powers in the country.
Voting is going on peacefully
Let us tell you that the fate of 55 candidates aspiring to become MPs from all the Lok Sabha seats of the state – Pauri Garhwal, Tehri, Almora (reserved), Haridwar and Nainital – is in the hands of more than 83 lakh voters. State’s Additional Chief Electoral Officer VK Jogdande said that there were reports of EVM malfunction at some polling places, which were replaced during the ‘mock poll’ itself. He said that voting is going on smoothly everywhere and no untoward incident has been reported from anywhere.
