The courage and valor of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is always appreciated. Now six soldiers of this force have managed to climb Mount Karjok Kangri situated at an altitude of 20,177 feet in Ladakh. For the first time a team has reached this mountain peak.
Extremely severe weather prevails on Mount Karjok Kangri. These days the temperature there is minus 40 degree Celsius. Six personnel of the Central Mountaineering Team of ITBP managed to climb Mount Karjok on February 20. The team was led by mountaineer Commandant Ratan Singh Sonal. Deputy Commandant Anoop Negi was the deputy leader of this team. The team did not take the help of any special mountaineering equipment to climb this peak.
