Sam Pitroda.
Senior Congress leader Sam Pitroda, who is often in controversies, is once again in the news. In fact, the Congress party has once again made Sam Pitroda the president of the Indian Overseas Congress. Pitroda has been appointed with immediate effect. Let us tell you that during the last Lok Sabha elections, there was a lot of uproar over the controversial statements of Sam Pitroda. After this, he resigned from his post. However, just a few days after the election results came out, Sam Pitroda has once again returned to his post.
The people of the Northeast were described as being like the Chinese
During the elections, Sam Pitroda made a strange statement about the people of different regions of India. While discussing the diversity of India, he compared South Indians to Africans and Northeast Indians to Chinese. Pitroda also said that people of Western India look like Arabs. Whereas, people in the North look like whites.
The Congress had washed its hands off
Congress distanced itself from the controversial statements made by Sam Pitroda. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had said that the analogies given by Sam Pitroda to India’s diversity are absolutely wrong, unfortunate and unacceptable. He had said that Congress completely disassociates itself from these analogies and denies it.
Also gave advice on inheritance tax
Sam Pitroda, the president of Congress think tank and Indian Overseas Congress, had advocated taxing inherited property in India. He had said that such a law exists in America. Sam had said that in America any person can transfer 45 percent of his property to his children. The government takes the remaining 55 percent. Pitroda said that you have created property for your generation. You should leave your property for the public, not the whole, but half, which seems fair to me. He said that such a law does not exist in India but such a rule should be made here as well.
