New Delhi. Elections are to be held soon for the new President in the country. While the opposition has approved Yashwant Sinha’s name as the presidential candidate, the NDA has put forward the name of Draupadi Murmu. Voting for the presidential election is to be held on July 18, the counting of which will take place on July 21. The country will get a new Majesty as soon as the counting of votes is completed. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, who suffered a setback from Eknath Shinde in Maharashtra ahead of the presidential election, is now seen kneeling before the Shiv Sainiks. Actually, a day earlier, that is, on Monday, Thackeray had called a meeting of MPs. In this, out of 19 Lok Sabha MPs, only 12 arrived and 7 remained missing. Apart from this, the MPs involved in the meeting put pressure on Thackeray that the party should support Draupadi Murmu, not Yashwant Singh. Although Uddhav Thackeray had said to consider it at that time, but now Shiv Sena has given a big blow to the opposition by announcing the support of NDA’s candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election.
Let us tell you, while giving information about this, senior party leader Sanjay Raut has clarified that he is supporting Draupadi Murmu but it does not mean supporting BJP. Sanjay Raut said that in the name of tribal leader we are supporting Draupadi Murmu. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the public sentiment.
Shiv Sena changed stand under pressure from MPs?
Pressure from MPs is believed to be behind Draupadi Murmu’s support as 40 of the party’s 55 MLAs have gone with the rebel Eknath Shinde. Apart from this, now the remaining MPs are also being said to be in support of Shinde. In such a situation, if Shiv Sena chief Thackeray did not accept the support of Draupadi Murmu by his MPs, then there was a possibility of the sitting MPs also joining the Shinde faction. In such a situation, if seen in a way, the pressure of MPs is believed to be changed by Shiv Sena.
