Sanju Samson may be out of the playing XI of the first T20, Pant will do wicketkeeping

New Delhi. The three-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka is going to start today. The Indian team will play in a series for the first time under the coaching of new coach Gautam Gambhir. Suryakumar Yadav will captain the T20 team. A lot has been said about the playing eleven of the first match. It is believed that Rishabh Pant will be able to make a place as a wicketkeeper while Sanju Samson may be left out.

After the ICC T20 World Cup, there has been a lot of change in India’s T20 team. After Rohit Sharma’s retirement, the captaincy has been given to Suryakumar Yadav. After Rahul Dravid’s contract with Team India ended, Gautam Gambhir is now handling the coaching responsibility. The first T20 is to be played in Pallekele, Sri Lanka, for which the coach and captain have to brainstorm to select the playing eleven.

In the T20 series against Sri Lanka, the pair of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be seen in the opening of the Indian team. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant can be fielded at number three. After this, captain Suryakumar Yadav will come to bat at number four. As was the batting order in the ICC T20 World Cup.

The captaincy of the team has been taken away from 30-year-old Hardik Pandya but he is still a part of the team. The team also has the option of Shivam Dubey and Akshar Patel as all-rounders. In such a situation, only one batsman among Rinku Singh, Riyan Parag and Sanju Samsam will get a place. Rinku Singh has made a name for himself as a finisher in the recent past and carries out this responsibility well, so his place seems to be confirmed.

Talking about bowling, Arshdeep Singh will take charge in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. In the T20 World Cup too, he was made a part of the XI ahead of Mohammad Siraj. Siraj, Hardik and Shivam Dubey will play the role of fast bowlers against Sri Lanka. Ravi Bishnoi will be supported by Akshar Patel in the spinners.

India’s probable playing XI
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper) Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohammed Siraj
