Caste issue echoed in Parliament
On Tuesday, a fierce exchange of words was witnessed between the opposition and the ruling party in the Lok Sabha. In fact, BJP MP Anurag Thakur hit back at the opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and raised questions on his caste. Anurag Thakur said, “The one whose caste is not known, talks about caste census.” Anurag Thakur’s statement sparked a debate in the House. During this, Congress members came into the well of the Lok Sabha. During this, Rahul Gandhi replied that he has been insulted and despite the attacks, the Indy alliance will ensure that the caste census is conducted.

During this, Rahul Gandhi said that whoever speaks for the backward, tribals and SC, ST, gets abused. I have no problem with this. On the caste based census, I am standing like Arjun aiming at the fish. On Anurag Thakur’s statement, SP MP Akhilesh Yadav targeted Anurag Thakur and said that how can he ask anyone’s caste. Let us tell you that a day earlier, while continuing to attack Rahul Gandhi for his Chakravyuh sarcasm on the BJP-led government, Thakur had cited some alleged excerpts from the book written by MP Shashi Tharoor to target the Congress governments continuously since 1947.
