The district remained in full darkness from 10 pm to 10:15 pm and then from 12 noon to 4 am. During this time all the lights of the city remained closed. Officials of district administration, police and other security agencies were stationed in various areas and kept a close watch on the situation.
Due to security reasons, all civil airports in the border areas including Jodhpur Airport have been temporarily closed. This caused inconvenience to some passengers, but said that it was an essential step in the national interest. Civil Defense, NCC cadets and police personnel visited various areas of the city and trained people about the precautions to be taken during blackout.
On Wednesday, District Collector Gaurav Aggarwal held a review meeting with officials at the Disaster Management Office. He discussed with representatives of business organizations at Marwar Community Center and also inspected the situation of blackout by reaching Mehrangarh Durg.
