Only then they can be promoted to the next class. The Kerala government on Wednesday decided to implement the ‘subject minimum’ system in examinations of various classes.

Approval in cabinet meeting
The decision to implement the subject minimum system in Kerala schools was taken in the cabinet meeting. The cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of the state’s Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. In which this new system was approved. Now it will be implemented in the schools of the state.

Why did the government take this decision
Let us tell you that the quality of education in Kerala schools was being criticized. Apart from this, the system of promoting to the next class was also being opposed. After which the state government has taken this step. In Kerala, this system will be implemented in class 8 in the academic session 2024-25, in class 8 and 9 in 2025-26, and in class 8, 9, and 10 in the academic year 2026-27.

According to the information given by the CMO, a program will be prepared to improve the education system in classes 1 to 10 and this program will be run with public participation. Recently an educational conference was organized in Kerala, in which many recommendations were made to improve the education system. This was one of those recommendations.
