Mahakumbh Nagar. The safety of crores of devotees coming to take a dip of faith in Mahakumbh is the priority of the Yogi government. In this sequence, a large number of water police personnel have been deployed for the security and monitoring of Ganga and Yamuna rivers.
These soldiers have also been equipped with modern equipment. The water police is monitoring every nook and corner of the Sangam through equipment like underwater drones and sonar systems. Equipments like lifebuoy and FRP speed motor boat will be helpful in emergency situations. Well trained water police personnel have been deployed to deal with any kind of disaster.
Under the Water Police Scheme, around 2,500 personnel have so far been deployed to protect the coasts. Three water police stations have been set up, which are on alert 24 hours for the safety of the devotees. Security on the beaches is being monitored from the Water Police Control Room, while 17 Water Police Sub Control Rooms have also been set up throughout the Mela area. This manpower will be further increased before the start of the fair and about 1,300 water police personnel will be added to it. In this way, a total of 3,800 water police personnel will be on alert during the fair to protect the beaches.
To protect the coasts, the Yogi government has equipped the water police personnel with state-of-the-art equipment. 8 km. Deep water barricading has been done in the area. Two floating rescue stations have been set up, where personnel have been deployed to prevent any untoward incident. Apart from this, 11 FRP speed motor boats have been deployed for the security of the confluence area. In this 6 seater boat, soldiers are seen monitoring the confluence area all the time.
Four water ambulances have also been deployed for emergency situations, which are capable of providing immediate relief. Apart from this, 25 rechargeable mobile remote area lightning systems have also been deployed, while 4 Anaconda motor boats with changing rooms are also being deployed.
Apart from this, water police personnel are deployed two km. They are also equipped with a long river line, which is playing an important role in traffic control in Yamuna. Apart from this, they have been equipped with 100 diving kits, 440 lifebuoys, more than 3 thousand life jackets, 415 rescue tubes, 200 throw bags with rope, 29 tower light systems, an underwater drone and a sonar system. All the state-of-the-art equipment enables the Water Police personnel to protect the coasts as well as monitor and protect all kinds of activities taking place in the water.
Inspector General of Police, in-charge of PAC East Zone, Dr. Rajiv Narayan Mishra said that Mahakumbh is a big opportunity for Uttar Pradesh Water Police, PAC and SDRF. During this period, it is the responsibility of all of us to protect and monitor the Sangam and other areas. For the safety of the devotees, the government has equipped the water police and PAC with modern equipment. Adequate number of manpower has also been made available. Our effort is to make Mahakumbh 100% incident free.
