Jammu. After the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, security agencies have issued sketches of suspected terrorists involved in the attack, making great progress towards investigation. These sketches have been prepared on the basis of interrogation of eyewitnesses at the scene. 27 people died in a terrorist attack on Tuesday afternoon in Pahalgam. More than 20 people are injured. The attack was carried out when a large number of tourists were present in the Basaron Valley. Among the dead are tourists from UP, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha. One tourist and 2 locals of Nepal and UAE were also killed.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to those killed in the Pahalgam attack in Srinagar. Shah has now reached Basaron Valley. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left the tour of Saudi Arabia for two days and returned to India on Wednesday morning. They will hold a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security Affairs.
This is the biggest attack after the Pulwama attack on 14 February 2019 in Jammu and Kashmir. The convoy of CRPF in Pulwama was attacked with a suicide attack, in which 40 soldiers were martyred. It was taken responsibility by Jaish-e-Mohammed.
