Indian leaders celebrated International Yoga Day with full enthusiasm and devotion. From the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Agriculture Minister Shivraj, all the leaders did yoga on this occasion. PM Modi reached Kashmir for this, while Nitin Gadkari did yoga in his hometown Nagpur. The Ministry of Culture organized International Yoga Day at the historic Purana Qila site in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). About 5 lakh people participated in this program. It has been a decade since International Yoga Day is being celebrated. People in more than 100 countries do yoga and have improved their health.
PM Modi did yoga at Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Center, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. During this, he said that the expansion of yoga has broken the perception about it. Now people from all over the world come to India to learn yoga. Many people also keep personal yoga trainers. This has given new employment opportunities to the youth of the country.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan did yoga in Delhi and Nitin Gadkari did yoga in Nagpur.
Rajnath Singh performed yoga with soldiers and other army officials in Mathura.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said after performing yoga in Delhi, “Yoga is an important part of India’s spiritual potential. The Prime Minister’s vision was to give yoga a special place in the world and every year on this day, yoga is celebrated across the world.”
After performing yoga, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said, “It is an inspiration that has created enthusiasm and awareness for yoga across the world. Today, I am very happy to see that so many ambassadors and colleagues from the Ministry of External Affairs joined us for the yoga session. We have come a long way in the last 10 years. We can see how much happiness and well-being yoga has brought to the world.”
Anurag Thakur did yoga in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma along with his entire cabinet performed yoga at the Sawai Man Singh Cricket Stadium in Jaipur.
After doing yoga in Mumbai, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that by doing yoga in Kashmir, PM Modi is giving a message. Yoga teaches everyone to walk on the path of peace.
Hema Malini did yoga in her parliamentary constituency Mathura.
Health Minister JP Nadda did yoga at Yamuna Sports Complex in Delhi.
