On the auspicious occasion of Snan Purnima, where the grand bathing journey of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra was being organized in Puri with full devotion and security, a heartbreaking news on this auspicious day shook the entire city. Jagannath Dixit, senior servant of Sreejgannath Temple, was brutally murdered. Dixit was associated with ‘Supar Sevayat’ i.e. God’s kitchen service.
Went to ask for money after completing the service
According to the information, on Wednesday morning, Jagannath Dixit performed the service of the bathing journey with full devotion. A few hours later, he went to his knowledgeable Narayan Patjoshi’s house. It is being told that Dixit had earlier lent money to Patjoshi, which he reached his house to ask back. But shortly after, his body was found in a blood -soaked state outside Patjoshi’s house.
CCTV footage opened secret
A CCTV footage has surfaced in this shocking murder, in which a person can be seen dragging out Jagannath Dixit’s body and throwing it out. Eyewitnesses and local residents claim that the person seen in the footage is Narayan Patjoshi. Based on this footage, the police has intensified the investigation of the murder.

Forensic investigation and police investigation continues
Puri City DSP Prashant Kumar Sahu and Town Police Station Incharge (IIC) reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. A scientific team gathered important evidence from the scene. The body of the deceased has been sent for post -mortem to Puri District Hospital. The police have started searching for the accused and the identity is being confirmed with the help of CCTV footage.

Puri SP Vineet Aggarwal has said in his initial remarks that the murder seems to be associated with old enmity and money transaction disputes. However, he also clarified that the real reason behind the murder would be revealed only after the completion of the investigation.
