But New Delhi. The first reaction of Aam Aadmi Party came in the case of alleged rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata’s Aarji Kar Hospital. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh targeted Mamata Banerjee’s government, an ally in the All India Alliance, on the Kolkata incident. He termed this incident as painful. He also demanded strict action against the culprits in this case. Sanjay Singh said that such incidents shake the sensibilities of the society. The culprits should be given the harshest punishment, so that such incidents can be prevented in future.

Sanjay Singh said, “The Kolkata incident is extremely painful and distressing. The culprit should be given the harshest punishment. The soul shivers even thinking about how much suffering that victim girl must have endured.” Sanjay Singh has also raised questions about the society and the administration regarding this incident. He said that there are serious concerns about the safety of women in various parts of the country including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. “Today, questions are arising in the mind of every citizen about the safety of women. This is an issue that cannot be ignored.”

Strict action should be taken…
Sanjay Singh stressed, “These cases need to be dealt with strictly so that people’s faith in the safety of women can be restored. Not only the fear of law, but a strong message needs to be sent in the society that such incidents will not be tolerated under any circumstances.” Sanjay Singh also stressed that women’s safety cannot be possible only through political rhetoric or allegations and counter-allegations. He said, “Women cannot get safety only by doing politics again and again and making allegations and counter-allegations. We have to seriously consider this issue and take concrete steps so that women can get the right to live a safe and dignified life.”

Sanjay Singh also appealed to the countrymen on this issue to be aware and raise their voice unitedly against such incidents. He said that it is the collective responsibility of the society to ensure the safety of women and demand strict action against such incidents.
