The Indian Meteorological Department has said that the wind speed during the Ramal cyclone can be around 102 kilometers per hour. Due to this, a warning of very heavy rainfall has been issued in the coastal districts of West Bengal, North Odisha, Mizoram, Tripura and South Manipur on 26 and 27 May. The Meteorological Department has asked the fishermen who have gone fishing in the sea to return to the coast and has also issued an advice not to go to the Bay of Bengal till 27 May.
